Introductions are in order…

Emily N Gilbert, AIA, NCARB

Emily is a spirited architect originally from the rainy but beautiful city of Seattle. She spent six years in Bozeman, Montana but decided it was too cold and opted to return back to the PNW.

She navigates the world of architecture with a dynamic and thoughtful problem-solving approach that seems to be second nature. With a career focused on tenant improvements she is an architect that understands the profound impact of textures, finishes, and colors in making a space complete. Emily is a perpetual learner; finding opportunities in every conversation and interaction to rethink and reimagine how we inhabit spaces.

Outside of design, Emily enjoys cooking, traveling, and eating - preferably at the same time. Additionally, she uses her design know-how in her many crafting projects.

Amanda R Klein, NCIDQ

Originally from Chicagoland, Amanda has been on a journey to find the perfect blend of water views and a sports-centric vibe to match her energetic style. Having crisscrossed the country, from DC to Denver, she finally landed in the Emerald City in March of '23 and, well, she's hooked.

While Amanda studied architecture, her heart veered toward the captivating world of Interior Design. She brings spaces to life with a blend of sophistication and pizzazz, whether it's a ground-up project or a tenant improvement. She oozes creativity and enthusiasm, finding the truest sense of accomplishment through a design that captures the essence of a client and their goals.

Beyond her knack for design, Amanda is an avid sports nut, always ready to debate the latest game or cheer for her favorite teams.

Emily and Amanda, co-owners of Studio Vibrant, leverage their 35+ years of experience to guide clients in reimagining future space use. Our shared vision for the future of architecture and interior design led to the creation of Studio Vibrant.

We chose the name Studio Vibrant to reflect who we are as people as well as our use of patterns, colors, and textures in our design styles to break away from the status quo.

At Studio Vibrant, your project team will consistently feature both Emily and Amanda, with one serving as the primary point of contact. Our compact and knowledgeable team will accompany you throughout every stage, acting as your dedicated advocates.

“‘Listen, strange women laying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government’ from Monty Python and The Holy Grail.”

-Emily

What’s your favorite line from a movie?

What is one skill you really want to master?

“Knowing more languages. I took Spanish in high school but that was more of an ‘A for effort’ outcome.”

-Amanda

“There is a sweet spot in every project - somewhere in Schematic Design or Design Development - where everything just clicks. This idea supports that idea and works with this to make the whole thing really sing.”

-Emily

What is you favorite phase of a project?

“A beam for an operable partition got installed in the wrong location. The structural engineer was able to provide additional support and I reconfigured the ceiling layout so it didn't need to be moved.”

-Amanda

What construction oops turned out all right in then end?

“I got the Backstreet Boys and NSYNC CDs at the same time. The plus is I never felt I had to choose between the two.”

-Emily

What was your first CD?

“The Fourth of July. As a native Midwesterner, I’m a sucker for a parade, cookout, and fireworks. The holiday has changed since my migration west but if nothing else, I still look for the fireworks.”

-Amanda

What’s your favorite holiday?

Did you know you want to be an architect when you were growing up?

“My parents started designing our family house when I was in middle school, which opened my eyes to architecture and by the middle of high school I knew it was what I wanted to do.”

- Emily

What finish material do you feel adds the most “bang” for its buck?

“Wallcovering, it’s not your grandmother’s florals anymore. The options now provide such a range that cover every aesthetic someone may have.”
